Ghana’s finest television and radio personalities, Aj Sarpong, lead actress among other things Lydia Forson and Nigeria’s very own Oluwatosin Ogundadegbe (TheStyleInfidel) not only stormed the runway but was the inspiration behind Assian’s collection, as #AboutthatcurvylifeCollective showcased at Glitz Africa Fashion Week Accra, Ghana on the 7th of October. This Collective saw a return of the previous year’s contemporary menswear brand, Assian and (new entries) bespoke womenswear fashion designer, Nori Clothings and arabesque inspired designer, Abaya Lagos by Salihat.
This will be the second outing for #Aboutthatcurvylife’sCollective as last year, Aboutthatcurvylife’s founder Latasha Ngwube led the first ever presentation of the #Aboutthatcurvylife Collective at Heineken Lagos Fashion and Design week which drew global attention and praise from both traditional and fashion media.
As did the year prior, the #Aboutthatcurvylife Collective knocked it out of the park, bringing its ethos of all-body representation, body positivity/diversity/inclusion in fashion and on the runway, showcasing everything from on-trend pieces to the avant-garde, fun cuts in lively colours for the men as well as sophisticated conservative vibes inspired by the Middle East.
