WWE is making big changes to this Sunday’s TLC event in Minneapolis, Minn. due to medical issues that have affected several of its wrestlers.
The company announced on Friday that both Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt have been pulled from the show after both were diagnosed with an undisclosed illness.
Reigns was scheduled to be a part of The Shield reunion, teaming with Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose in a five-on-three TLC (Tables, Ladders, and Chairs) match against The Miz, Sheamus, Cesaro, Braun Strowman, and Kane. In his place will be WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle who will be making his return to a WWE ring for the first time since 2006.
Angle, who left WWE in 2006 and became an NWA: TNA — later TNA — wrestling stalwart, has been on screen as the RAW general manager since April of this year. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in the same month. Angle’s return to action this Sunday will mark his first time wrestling on a WWE canvas in 11 years. His last match for the company was August 8, 2006, against Sabu for the WWE-branded ECW.
The never-ending story between Finn Balor and Bray Wyatt also takes a brief hiatus on Sunday as AJ Styles reappears on a RAW pay-per-view in place of Wyatt, who is another victim of a viral infection.
